He is now in his fourth year of Ph.D studies in Quranic Exegesis at the University of Toronto. He is the president of the Islamic Information & Dawah Centre International in Toronto where he functions as Imam. He travels internationally to represent Islam in public lectures and interfaith dialogues. He explains Islam on a weekly television program called "Let the Quran Speak. رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلْإِيمَانِ أَنْ آَمِنُوا بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآَمَنَّا رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ (193) رَبَّنَا وَآَتِنَا مَا وَعَدْتَنَا عَلَى رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ ( آل عمران ) جلس أبو الدرداء يبكي بعد فتح جزيرة قبرص لمّا رأى بكاء أهلها وفرقهم، فقيل: ما يبيكيك يا أبا الدرداء في يوم أعزالله به الإسلام؟ فقال: (ويحكم ما أهون الخلق على الله إن هم تركوا أمره بينما هم أمة كانت ظاهرة قاهرة، تركوا أمر الله فصاروا إلى ما ترون
