Default Sun Created After The Light

Ousman Ahmad

The Bible makes it clear that the light was created on the first day, as we read in:

Genesis 1:3-5:

"And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning - the first day."

So it is explicit that light was created on the first day, which is: day 1. As a result, morning and evening occurred on day 1. The light (the phenomenon of day and night) was created on the 1st day, before anything else. Later on, we read:

Genesis 1:14-19:

"And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,
and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. God made two great lights - the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning - the fourth day."

Now, we read that the Sun (the cause of light) was created on the 4th day. Hence, we get a scientific error here, because the light (the phenomenon of day and night) was created after the CAUSE of light. How can the cause of light be created after the light itself? It is like saying that: a watch was created, before the creator of the watch existed. Similarly, it is utterly irrational to mention the result: "light " ( phenomenon of day and night) was created on the 1st day of creation, when the cause or source of the light was created 3 days later. Night and day could NOT have occurred on day 1, when sun was created on day 4.

However, this is not the only problem. On day 2 and day 3, night and day (evening and morning) occurred:

Genesis 1Created After Light
"God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning the second day."

Genesis 1Created After Light

"And there was evening, and there was morning - the third day."

How can there be a morning and evening on days 2 and 3, when Sun was created on day 4? Science tells us today, that mornings and evenings are only possible, if the Sun is present. For there to be a morning on days 2 and 3 (as well as day 1), when sun came into existence on day 4, is unscientific. In conclusion, we have understood 4 contradictions (unscientific points) here in this article regarding Bible, which are:

  • The cause of light was created after the light.
  • Night and Day occurred on day 1, without a sun.
  • Night and Day occurred on day 2, without a sun.
  • Night and Day occurred on day 3, without a sun.
