Politeness of dialogue and debates in Islam

1 من المرفقات
As I see it, genuine dialogue has no hidden agenda. The feeling that we should give to them (Christians) is that It ( The Dialogue) aims not at converting the other—
whether the sectarian or religious other—but, rather, at understanding him or her. Each
partner to the dialogue process should be firmly rooted in his or her religious tradition,
but at the same time must be willing to listen to what others believe and to respect their
right to speak about what they want to. Dialogue of this sort is essential in order to combat
prejudices and remove misunderstandings. It also leads to an appreciation of what the
different religions or sects share in common, such as basic ethical values, which, in turn,
can form the basis of joint efforts to work for social justice, peace and above all benefit of Islam.
And the volume attached to that subject is a good one for learning about the good dialogue and how to behave through a dialogue or a debate.
