المتخصصون في الكتاب المقدس وخاصة العهد الجديد لم يأتوا بجديد حين أدلوا بشهادتهم أن المسيح كان مسلمًا. ذلك لأن العهد الجديد شهد بذلك بالنص الصريح:
الَّذِي إِذْ شُتِمَ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَشْتِمُ عِوَضاً وَإِذْ تَأَلَّمَ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُهَدِّدُ بَلْ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ لِمَنْ يَقْضِي بِعَدْلٍ. (1بط 2: 23)
